Goal Directed Initiator

Big Plans + Big Goals

As a Goal-Directed Initiator, you have BIG plans and BIG Goals, and you work tirelessly at them. You try “all the things,” whether it’s all the diets, all the dating apps, all the masterclasses.

You buy the books, listen to Marie Forleo, but still feel like your wheels are spinning in the mud sometimes. The thing is, starting and finishing are hard, because you never seem to “get there.” It’s an “I’ll be happy when” mentality that feels futuristic and not in the now of your life.

Life has gotten so busy that you know you are missing out on appreciating the “little things,” because now everything feels like it is a “big thing.” People look to you for care and compassion, and you give it, 100%. The thought of starting one more thing now seems completely overwhelming. If only you could initiate change into your life and have it fit seamlessly instead of feeling like a vision quest?

Try these happiness hacks if you’re a Goal Directed Initiator:

  • Write a list of the tasks or projects you have started, and then list why those tasks or projects didn’t really get finished or didn’t amount to much.

  • Find a project or task that you can accomplish and complete in one day - then dig in!

  • Think about a time when you were 100% happy with your life. Now, take 3 minutes to describe that time in your journal.
